The honest verdict on every crop.

Grow or Buy compares the value of what you harvest against what your garden actually cost — so “was it worth it?” finally has an answer.

  • Track harvest value

    Weigh each harvest and Grow or Buy estimates its value from a comparison grocery price you set — conventional, organic or market.

  • Count growing costs

    Log seeds, compost and supplies. Choose whether each expense counts this season, spreads across seasons, or just lives in the journal.

  • See the season balance

    Harvest value minus counted costs gives your net season balance, with a break-even bar that fills as the garden pays for itself.

  • Follow every harvest

    Mark whether each pick was eaten, preserved or gifted, so the value you grew reflects how your garden was really used.

Values are your own estimates, based on the comparison prices you choose. Grow or Buy never rewrites your history.

    Your garden is stored in a database on your device and works fully offline. Nothing is uploaded when you record or export.

  • No account required

    Start growing straight away. There’s no sign-up, no email wall, and no profile in the cloud — your name stays on your device.

  • Take it all with you

    Export the whole garden to a spreadsheet (CSV) or a complete backup (JSON) at any time. Export never requires a subscription or an account.

  • Honest about diagnostics

    The only thing that can leave your device is anonymous crash reports that help fix bugs — and they’re off in development builds. No ads, no tracking, no selling data.
